WHAT IS WELLNESS?




Wellness is first and foremost a choice to assume responsibility for the quality of your life. It begins with a conscious decision to shape a healthy life. Wellness is a mindset to adopt a series of key principles that lead to high levels of well-being and life satisfaction.



Wellness as a concept exists on a continuum and is unique to each individual person, this is called the illness-wellness continuum.



What is the Illness-Wellness Continuum?

The Illness/Wellness Continuum illustrates the relationship of the treatment paradigm to the Wellness paradigm.

WELLNESS CREATOR believes that moving from the center to the left shows a progressively worsening state of health. Moving to the right of center indicates increasing levels of health and wellbeing. The treatment paradigm (Complementary Therapies, Healthy Lifestyle choices e.g. Positive Thinking, Air, Proper diet, Exercise,etc) can bring you up to the neutral point, where the symptoms of disease have been alleviated.




What are Complementary Therapies?

Complementary Therapies are Natural remedies e.g. Massage that may be used alongside conventional medicine and could help to restore the body’s natural equilibrium and balance and when the body is relaxed and in balance it may cope with the everyday stresses and strains of life more effectively.



Complementary therapies could be used to target a specific physical,mental,emotional or spiritual problem as each other person has various dimensions which make them up, or they can be used as a preventative measure or purely for relaxation so whether you have a specific health problem or you just want to increase your feeling of well-being or simply relax more, why not try one of these beneficial therapies and see what it could do for you.


When used on a regular basis these therapies may enable a person to move towards Holistic health or wholeness, aswell as improve their health, prevent illness and stress etc.
